Aliki Vougiouklaki, born on July 20th, 1934 in Marousi, Greece, was a cherished Greek actress, singer, and theatrical producer in both cinema and theater. As one of the most popular actresses in Greece, she was honored with the title “The National Star of Greece.” Aliki appeared in over 42 films, the majority of which were box-office successes, further solidifying her status as a “National Star Actress.” Some of her most renowned works include “Madalena” (1960), “I Agapi Mas” (1968), “Marina” (1968), “The Lady and the Tramp” (1968), and “Rena Katsarou Pipis” (1968). Sadly, Aliki Vougiouklaki passed away on July 23, 1996, at the age of 62 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. As Greece’s all-time favorite actress, she will always be remembered as “The National Star of Greece.”
