Richard Stephen Shaw, also known as Bushwick Bill, was a Jamaican-American rapper who rose to fame as a member of the groundbreaking Texas hip-hop group Geto Boys. Initially starting as a dancer, he transitioned to rapping and became known for his emotional lyrics and distinctive eye-patch. Bushwick’s most notable work was on the Geto Boys’ 1991 album “We Can’t Be Stopped,” which included the hit song “Mind Playing Tricks on Me.” He also made an appearance in the film “Office Space” and released albums such as “Universal Souljah,” “Gutta Mixx,” and “My Testimony of Redemption.” Sadly, Bushwick Bill passed away in 2019 at the age of 52.
