David Morrissey, a British actor, director, and screenwriter, rose to fame with his portrayal of the eyepatch-wearing villain, The Governor, in the popular TV show “The Walking Dead.” His notable works include the drama series “One Summer,” films “The Colour Room” and “Red Riding: 1974,” and directing the TV movie “Sweet Revenge.” He is also involved in the series “Sherwood” and has published a well-received debut novel, “The Broken Road,” which was long-listed for the Desmond Elliot Prize. Morrissey began his screen acting career at 18 in the drama series “One Summer” and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
