Douglas Noël Adams (11 March 1952 – 11 May 2001) was an English author, humorist, and screenwriter, most famous for his work on The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Initially a 1978 BBC radio comedy, this series evolved into a five-book “trilogy” that sold over 15 million copies during Adams’ life. It was also adapted into a television series, stage plays, a comic book series, a computer game, and a feature film. In addition to this, Adams wrote other novels such as Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency and Last Chance to See.
