Gurdas Maan, a distinguished Punjabi singer, songwriter, and actor, rose to national prominence in 1980 with his song “Dil Da Mamla Hai.” Throughout his career, he has released more than 34 albums and penned over 305 songs, including popular hits like “Apna Punjab Hove,” “Ki Banu Duniya Da,” “Punjab-Title Track,” and “Aisa Des Hai Mera” from the film Veer-Zaara. In addition to his music, Maan has appeared in Punjabi movies such as “Shaheed-e-Mohabbat” and “Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da.” He has been honored with numerous awards for his contributions to Punjabi music, including the esteemed Padma Shri award in 1999.
