Hans Albert, born on 8 February 1921, is a renowned German philosopher and sociologist recognized for his critical rationalism and contributions to the philosophy of science. He is also well-known for his work on social inequality and power structures. Albert’s most notable publications include “Treatise on Critical Reason” (Traktat über kritische Vernunft), “Critique of Pure Irrationality” (Die Kritik der reinen Unvernunft), “Ethics and Society” (Ethik und Gesellschaft), and “Between Sociology and History” (Zwischen Soziologie und Geschichte). As an outspoken critic of continental hermeneutic traditions, Albert has made significant contributions to the research on Social Sciences and the General Studies of Methods. In 2008, he was awarded the Merit Cross 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany.
