Henrik Lundqvist, often referred to as “King Henrik,” is a renowned Swedish ice hockey goaltender who achieved international acclaim. His professional career began in 2000 with Frölunda HC in the Swedish Elite League. Drafted by the New York Rangers in 2000, he joined them in 2005 and became a cornerstone of their success. Lundqvist played an impressive 15 seasons with the Rangers, amassing remarkable franchise records, including 459 wins, 64 shutouts, and 887 games played as a goaltender.
Throughout his illustrious career, Lundqvist garnered numerous accolades. Notably, he won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top goaltender in 2012 and was selected to the NHL All-Star Team an impressive six times. He led the Rangers to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2014 and showcased his exceptional skills on the international stage, capturing a gold medal with Sweden at the 2006 Winter Olympics and a silver medal in 2014.
