James Joshua Chasez, born on August 8, 1976, in Bowie, Maryland, USA, is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and actor who developed an interest in music and performing at a young age. Growing up in Bowie, he attended local schools and was discovered by a talent agent while performing at a local talent show. Chasez was originally supposed to be a member of the Backstreet Boys but ultimately joined the popular boy band NSYNC in the late 1990s.
NSYNC achieved immense success, selling over 50 million albums worldwide and becoming one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. With NSYNC, Chasez released several hit songs, including “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” “Bye Bye Bye,” and “It’s Gonna Be Me.” As a talented songwriter, Chasez wrote or co-wrote many of NSYNC’s hit songs. He is also a skilled dancer and choreographer. After NSYNC disbanded in 2002, Chasez pursued a solo career and released his debut solo album, “Schizophrenic,” in 2004, which featured the hit single “Some Girls Dance.”
