John Knoll is a distinguished visual effects artist and supervisor, as well as the co-creator of Adobe Photoshop. He is best known for his contributions to the Star Wars franchise, having worked on several films as a visual effects supervisor, such as the prequels, Rogue One, and The Mandalorian. In addition to Star Wars, Knoll has lent his expertise to other major films like Pirates of the Caribbean, Pacific Rim: Uprising, and Avatar. He began his career at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) in 1986 and has since risen to the position of chief creative officer (CCO). Throughout his career, Knoll has been recognized with numerous awards, including two Academy Awards and a Scientific and Engineering Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
