John Lithgow comes from an Anglo-American family of artists with parents as a theatrical producer, director, and theater head. He gained recognition on Broadway which netted him a Tony Award for ‘The Changing Room’ and nominations for ‘Requiem For a Heavyweight’ and ‘M Butterfly’.
He graduated from Princeton High School and earned two scholarships: one from Harvard University and graduated as magna cum laude and the other one was as a Fulbright scholar at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
