John Mahoney was a renowned English-American actor, celebrated for his portrayal of Martin Crane in the TV series “Frasier”. With a distinguished career spanning over four decades, Mahoney received critical acclaim for his versatile and prolific performances in stage, film, and television. Some of his notable works include “Say Anything…”, “Barton Fink”, and “The American President”. Mahoney earned two Tony Award nominations and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his role in “Frasier”. Born in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, in 1940, he moved to the United States and embarked on his acting career in the 1980s. Prior to acting, Mahoney taught English at Western Illinois University. He passed away in 2018 at the age of 77.
