Jorge Gilberto Ramos Ãvalos, born on March 16, 1958, is a renowned Mexican-American journalist, author, and news anchor. Often referred to as “The Walter Cronkite of Latin America,” Ramos is considered the most prominent Spanish-language news anchor in the United States. He is the anchor for the Univision news television program Noticiero Univision, where he has covered five wars and received ten Emmy Awards. Additionally, Ramos hosts “Al Punto,” Univision Network’s Sunday public affairs program, and his first English-language program, “America with Jorge Ramos.” He is also a featured keynote speaker and special honoree at the UCLA Extension Certificate Graduation Ceremony.
