José Manuel López Castro, known as “El Cigala,” is a Spanish flamenco singer and songwriter who has gained international acclaim for his unique blend of traditional flamenco with other musical genres. Born in Madrid, Spain, he began his musical journey at an early age, studying flamenco singing and guitar at the Amor de Dios Conservatory.
López Castro rose to prominence in the early 1990s, captivating audiences with his powerful voice and mesmerizing performances in tablaos (flamenco venues) in Madrid. His debut album, “Undebel,” released in 1997, marked the beginning of a successful recording career.
