Joy Behar, an American comedian, actress, and TV personality, gained prominence as one of the original co-hosts on the popular ABC talk show “The View,” which she joined in 1997. Known for her caustic wit and razor-sharp sarcasm, Behar has hosted her own shows, such as “The Joy Behar Show” on HLN and “Say Anything” on Current TV. She has also appeared in films like “This is My Life” and Woody Allen’s “Manhattan Murder Mystery.” Behar has received a Daytime Emmy Award for her work on “The View.”
Some of her other notable works and achievements include hosting HLN’s “The Joy Behar Show” from 2009 to 2011, co-hosting “Late Night Joy,” a weekly late-night chat show on TLC that premiered in 2015, and being the only original panelist currently appearing on “The View.” Before her career in show business, Behar briefly worked as an English teacher at Lindenhurst High School in New York and had a minor role in the 2011 film “Hall Pass.” She started her career in show business as a receptionist and later became a producer on Good Morning America.
