Karen King, a renowned historian of early Christianity at Harvard University, is widely recognized for her research on the Gospel of Mary, an early Gnostic text. Her work primarily focuses on early Christian texts, women’s roles in ancient Christianity, and the history of Christian spirituality. Some of her other significant publications include Reading Judas: The Gospel of Judas and the Shaping of Christianity, What Is Gnosticism?, and The Gospel of Mary of Magdala: Jesus and the First Woman Apostle.
