Karina Smirnoff, a Soviet-born American ballroom dancer with Ukrainian roots, gained fame as a professional dancer on the reality TV show Dancing with the Stars. She won the thirteenth season with J.R. Martinez and has achieved two runner-up titles, a semifinal title, and several quarterfinal titles on the show. A five-time U.S. National Champion, World Trophy Champion, and Asian Open Champion, Smirnoff’s notable works include Shall We Dance (2004) and Tango Shalom (2021). She has also appeared in Dark Feathers Amelia, 48 Hours to Live, and Judge (2016).
