Norman Selby, better known as Kid McCoy, was a notorious American professional boxer recognized for his deceptive and ruthless tactics in the ring. He gained infamy due to his involvement in a high-profile murder case in 1924. Some of McCoy’s most notable victories were against Peter Maher and Joe Walcott, and he held the title of World Middleweight Champion in 1897. In 1991, he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. McCoy’s distinctive fighting style and ability to predict his opponents’ moves earned him a place among legendary boxers such as Nonpareil Jack Dempsey, Jim Corbett, Jack Johnson, Gene Tunney, and Muhammad Ali. However, despite his achievements in boxing, McCoy’s life took a downward turn, leading him to take on minor roles as a villain in movies.
