Lawrence Krisna Parker, also known as KRS-One, is a renowned American rapper and social activist who gained fame as part of the influential hip-hop group Boogie Down Productions. Their notable albums include “Criminal Minded” and “By All Means Necessary”. KRS-One is recognized for popularizing socially aware and politically charged rap lyrics, with his most famous works being “Return of the Boom Bap” and “I Got Next”. He also established the Stop the Violence Movement and was honored with the BET Lifetime Achievement Award. Besides his music career, KRS-One has authored several books on subjects such as hip-hop culture and spirituality, including “The Science of Rap” and “The Gospel of Hip Hop”. Often referred to as the ‘teacha’, he is a pioneering figure in politically conscious rap and continues to be highly respected in the hip-hop community.
