He has sung thousands of Bollywood songs, with his most notable work being the soundtrack for the 1990 romance film Aashiqui. This album sold 20 million copies, making it the best-selling Bollywood album of all time. Sanu has received five consecutive Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer and holds the Guinness World Record for recording 28 songs in just one day. Some of his other significant works include songs from films such as Saajan, Baazigar, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and Coolie No 1.
