Lillian Marie Disney (née Bounds; February 15, 1899 â December 16, 1997) was an American ink artist who worked at Disney Studios and was married to Walt Disney. She played a significant role in the studio’s success, contributing funds to complete the animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Additionally, she was involved in the production of Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan. As a talented artist, Lillian Disney’s paintings were showcased at prestigious exhibitions. She was also a generous benefactor of the California Institute of the Arts and the Los Angeles Music Center. Notably, Lillian Disney is credited with naming the iconic Mickey Mouse character during her time as an ink artist at the Disney Studios.
