Marie Askehave is a Danish actress and singer, best known for her role as Rie Skovgaard in the 2007 TV series The Killing. She has appeared in numerous TV and film productions, including Overleverne (2021), and has been married to fellow actor Thomas Bo Larsen since 2008. Askehave graduated from the Danish National School of Theatre and Contemporary Dance in Copenhagen in 1997.

Askehave’s professional acting career began in the late 1990s, with roles in Danish films and television series. She gained international recognition for her role in the 2006 film “After the Wedding,” which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Askehave’s performance in the film earned her critical acclaim and helped launch her international career.
