Matthew Shafer, known by his stage name Uncle Kracker, is an American singer, rapper, and musician who rose to fame with hit singles such as “Follow Me” and “Drift Away.” He has collaborated with prominent artists like Kid Rock and Kenny Chesney throughout his career. Shafer has released several successful albums, including the double-Platinum “Double Wide” and his fifth studio album, “Midnight Special.” Before pursuing a career in music, he worked at a gas station until Kid Rock invited him to join his backing band, Twisted Brown Trucker, as a turntablist. Eventually, Shafer transitioned to recording as a solo artist.
