Michael Wayne, John Wayne’s eldest son, was a prominent executive producer in the entertainment industry. He gained recognition for his work on the 1975 film “The Man Who Would Be King,” directed by John Huston and featuring Sean Connery and Michael Caine. Wayne’s other notable productions include “Big Jake,” “The Green Berets,” “The Alamo,” “Gunsmoke,” and “The Dukes of Hazzard.” As a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, he had an esteemed collection of Western movie memorabilia. Born to John Wayne and his first wife, Josephine Alicia Saenz, Michael served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve before passing away in 2003 at 68 years old.
