Nestor Paiva, an American actor of Portuguese descent, was renowned for his portrayal of Teck Holmes in the TV series “The Lone Ranger.” Throughout his career, he appeared in over 140 films and television shows, such as “Creature from the Black Lagoon,” “An American in Paris,” “Maverick,” “Gunsmoke,” “Daniel Boone,” “Bonanza,” “Make Room for Daddy,” and “The Lucy Show.” Paiva was also a member of the John Ford Stock Company and earned recognition for his work in radio, Broadway, and his recurring role as Teo Gonzales in Walt Disney’s Zorro series. Additionally, he played Lucas, the boat captain in Creature from the Black Lagoon. An accomplished pilot, Paiva survived a plane crash in 1953.
