Ray Parker Jr. is an American guitarist, songwriter, and producer who rose to fame in the late 1960s as part of Bohannon’s house band and later as a member of the Detroit Spinners’ touring group. He is best known for his Grammy-winning theme song for the 1984 film “Ghostbusters,” as well as other popular tracks like “The Other Woman,” “A Woman Needs Love (Just Like You Do),” and “Jack and Jill.” In addition to his music career, Parker has composed theme songs for TV shows such as “The Harlem Globetrotters” and “One in a Million.” As a philanthropist, he has supported charities like the Children’s Diabetes Foundation and the United Negro College Fund.
