Robert L. Johnson is a renowned American entrepreneur and investor, recognized for founding Black Entertainment Television (BET) and becoming the nation’s first African American billionaire. Throughout his career, he has achieved numerous milestones, such as being the first African American majority owner of a major professional sports team in the United States. Johnson’s other significant accomplishments include developing the RLJ Kendeja Resort and Villas in Liberia, launching the Urban Movie Channel streaming service, and setting up an investment fund for African American entrepreneurs. He remains dedicated to expanding opportunities for the Black community.
