Robert James Smith, an English musician, is best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and main songwriter for the renowned alternative rock band, The Cure. He established the band in 1978 and has remained its sole constant member. In addition to his work with The Cure, Smith played lead guitar for Siouxsie and the Banshees between 1982 and 1984 and was a member of the short-lived group, The Glove, in 1983. Some of his most notable works include the albums “The Top,” “Disintegration,” and “Bloodflowers,” as well as collaborations with Siouxsie and the Banshees and Junior Jack.
