American actor Sidney Blackmer was renowned for his portrayal of Roman Castevet in the horror classic “Rosemary’s Baby” (1968) and for playing Teddy Roosevelt in seven films. His other significant works include “Little Caesar,” “The High and the Mighty,” “Come to the Stable,” and “Airport.” He received a Tony Award for his performance in “Come Back, Little Sheba” and served as the President of the Screen Actors Guild from 1956 to 1958. Besides his acting career, Blackmer was passionate about collecting antique furniture and art.
