Mary Frances “Skeeter” Davis (1931-2004) was a renowned American country music singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the 1950s and 1960s. Her most iconic song, “The End of the World,” remains a memorable recording from that era. Known for her emotive vocal performances and guitar skills, Davis often played on her own tracks. In 1998, she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Some of her other notable songs include “I Can’t Stay Mad at You” and “My Last Date (With You).” Throughout her successful career, Davis released numerous albums and achieved several chart-topping singles. For over 40 years, she was a member of the Grand Ole Opry radio show.
