Dajuan Walker, known by his stage name Suga Free, was born on January 17, 1970, in California. As an American rapper and songwriter, he gained fame for his unique and smooth “street gospel” rap style. His most notable works include his 1997 debut album “Street Gospel,” his 2000 album “The New Testament” featuring collaborations with DJ Quik and Nate Dogg, and his 2004 album “Features.” Suga Free also appeared on Snoop Dogg’s 2002 album “Paid tha Cost to Be da Boss” and participated in the 2006 documentary “Beef IV.”
In recent years, Suga Free has become a recognized member of the popular South Korean boy band BTS, performing under the alias Agust D. He has released solo material, achieving his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart with his album “D-Day.” Additionally, Suga has collaborated with other artists, such as producing the song “Eternal Sunshine” for Epik High. Despite his success with BTS, Suga Free remains respected for his contributions to the West Coast rap scene during the late 90s and early 2000s.
