Valorie Kondos Field, born on September 12, 1961, is an iconic gymnastics coach and a former UCLA gymnast. As the head coach of the UCLA women’s gymnastics team since 1991, she has led the Bruins to an impressive seven NCAA team championships, including an unprecedented five consecutive titles from 2018 to 2022. Her coaching prowess has also nurtured numerous individual NCAA champions and Olympians, including Samantha Peszek, Kyla Ross, and Madison Kocian.
Kondos Field’s accolades extend beyond the gymnastics arena. She has been recognized as the NCAA Coach of the Year a record seven times and inducted into both the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame and the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame. In 2021, she received the prestigious Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States.
