Afeni Shakur, born Alice Faye Williams, emerged as a prominent civil rights activist, businesswoman, and the mother of the legendary rapper Tupac Shakur. Her early life was marked by challenges, growing up in a segregated society and facing racial discrimination. Undeterred, Afeni joined the Black Panther Party, fearlessly advocating for social change and fighting against systemic oppression.
