Alain Prost, often referred to as “The Professor,” is a renowned French racing driver who gained fame for securing four Formula One World Championships in 1985, 1986, 1989, and 1993. Throughout his career, which spanned from the late 1970s to the early 1990s, Prost achieved 51 race victories and 106 podium finishes. At the time of his retirement, he held the record for the most Grand Prix wins and remains the only driver to have won the French Grand Prix six times. Prost’s strategic driving style and thorough preparation contributed to his status as one of the most successful Formula One drivers in history.
After retiring, Prost briefly returned to the sport in 1997 to test the Prost Grand Prix AP01 car. He also participated in the Andros Trophy, an ice racing championship, from 2003 to 2012, where he won the title three times. Despite his impressive accomplishments, Alain Prost’s career was marked by conflict and controversy, as he left teams on bad terms four times. Nevertheless, he remains one of the most well-known and beloved drivers in Formula One history.
