Alice Brady was a versatile American actress who excelled in both comedic and dramatic roles. She received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1937 for her performance in “In Old Chicago.” In addition to this, she starred in numerous successful films such as “My Man Godfrey,” “Stage Door,” and “Young Mr. Lincoln.” Brady also participated in various stage productions, including “The School for Scandal” and “The Three Sisters.” She was married to actor James Crane, with whom she co-starred in three silent films. Remarkably, Brady began her career during the silent film era and successfully transitioned into talkies. Sadly, she passed away from cancer in 1939 at just 46 years old.
