Andrew Lau Wai-keung is a renowned Hong Kong filmmaker who initially gained recognition as a cinematographer in the 1980s and 1990s, working with notable directors such as Ringo Lam, Wong Jing, and Wong Kar-wai. Seeking more creative freedom, Lau transitioned to directing and producing in the 1990s.
