Anita Ward, an American singer and musician from Memphis, Tennessee, rose to international prominence with her 1979 R&B/Disco hit “Ring My Bell.” This chart-topping single reached number one in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. Ward’s other notable songs include “Don’t Drop My Love,” “Spoiled By Your Love,” “If I Could Feel That Old Feeling Again,” and “Can’t Nobody Love Me Like You Do.” However, due to disputes with her record label, she never released another album after her debut. Ward also briefly ventured into acting, appearing in the film “The First Turn-On!!” and an episode of the TV series “Solid Gold.”
