Ann Reinking was an American dancer, actress, and choreographer recognized for her significant contributions to Broadway. She gained fame for her portrayal of Roxie Hart in the 1977 hit musical “Chicago” and was involved in numerous other Broadway productions, such as “A Chorus Line,” “Fosse,” and “Sweet Charity.” Reinking also participated in the film adaptation of “Annie” and choreographed the 1996 revival of “Chicago.” Throughout her career, she received multiple Tony Awards and was posthumously honored with the Lawrence L. and Thomas Winship/PEN New England Award. Known for her bold dance style, Reinking particularly stood out in the revival of “Chicago.” She passed away on December 12, 2020, at the age of 71.
