Scott Charles Bigelow, better known as Bam Bam Bigelow, was born on September 1, 1961, in Asbury Park, New Jersey. He was a professional wrestler renowned for his exceptional combination of agility and strength. Bigelow gained fame in the 1990s, participating in promotions such as New Japan Pro-Wrestling, the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 390 pounds, Bigelow was an extraordinary talent who moved like a lightweight despite his size. He performed remarkable maneuvers, such as moonsaults and diving headbutts from the top rope, with the elegance of an Olympic gymnast. His signature move, “Greetings from Asbury Park,” involved lifting opponents onto his shoulders and slamming them to the mat.
In addition to his wrestling career, Bigelow had other notable accomplishments. He appeared in movies like “Major Payne” and TV series such as “Arli$$.” He also demonstrated his skills in various wrestling shows, including ECW, NJPW, and TNA. Bigelow was an accomplished tattoo artist as well, opening his own tattoo shop in Florida in the late 1990s. He tattooed fellow wrestlers like Scott Hall and Kevin Nash.
Sadly, Bam Bam Bigelow passed away on January 19, 2007, at the age of 45 due to a drug overdose and heart attack in Hudson, Florida. Despite his untimely death, his legacy as a talented and agile big man in professional wrestling endures.
