Bernnadette Stanis, an American actress and author, rose to fame for her portrayal of Thelma Evans on the sitcom “Good Times” between 1974 and 1979. She has also made appearances on other television shows, including “The Cosby Show,” “The Love Boat,” and “The Parent Hood.” As an author, Stanis has written four books and actively participates in charity work through her organization, “Remembering the Good Times Foundation.” In 1970, she represented New York in the Miss Black America pageant. Notably, Stanis became the first black sex symbol or ‘It’ girl on television during the 1970s.
