Widely regarded as one of the greatest managers in professional wrestling history, Heenan earned his nickname “The Brain” from his longtime commentary partner Gorilla Monsoon. His quick wit and sharp tongue made him a standout in the industry.
Heenan also had notable stints in the American Wrestling Association (AWA), National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). In 2004, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Apart from wrestling, Heenan authored two books and appeared on numerous television shows. He hosted a parody talk show called “The Bobby Heenan Show” on WWF Prime Time Wrestling, which was a blend of Larry Sanders, Fernwood 2 Night, and Howard Stern’s first TV show.
Sadly, Heenan passed away in 2017 at the age of 73. His death was mourned by wrestling fans worldwide, as he was considered a legend in the industry. Heenan’s legacy as one of the greatest managers and personalities in professional wrestling history continues to be celebrated.
