Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, an Indian communist politician, served as the 7th Chief Minister of West Bengal between 2000 and 2011. During his tenure, he led the Left Front to secure victories in the 2001 and 2006 Assembly elections. As a member of the Communist Party of India’s politburo, Bhattacharjee played significant roles in the Singur land acquisition controversy, the Nandigram violence, and rural development initiatives in West Bengal. Additionally, he is an ardent admirer of Rabindra Sangeet, a genre of devotional songs composed by Rabindranath Tagore.
