Burt Ward, born Bert John Gervis Jr., is an American actor, animal welfare activist, and businessman. He gained fame in the mid-1960s for his portrayal of Robin, the Boy Wonder, in the popular television series “Batman.” In addition to this iconic role, Ward has appeared in other works such as “Virgin High,” “The Love Boat,” and “Tarzan and the Jungle Boy.” Before pursuing his acting career, he briefly worked as a medicine show salesman and a Wall Street salesman of vitamins, allioids, and health foods. Ward is also the founder of Gentle Giants Rescue and Adoptions, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for giant breed dogs.
