Carl Fogarty, commonly known as “Foggy,” is a renowned British ex-motorcycle racer who holds the distinction of being one of the most triumphant World Superbike racers in history. He secured the World Superbike Championship four times, with victories in 1994, 1995, 1998, and 1999. Recognized for his aggressive riding approach and intense competitiveness, Fogarty has participated in various events and television shows, such as “Foggy’s World Superbikes,” “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!,” “Extreme Frontiers: Canada,” and “Carl Fogarty: The Gloves Are Off.” In 1998, he was appointed as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his significant contributions to motorcycling.
Aside from his illustrious superbike career, Fogarty briefly ventured into car racing in the early 2000s. He competed in the Renault Clio Cup UK championship in 2003 and the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain series in 2004. Despite these forays, he ultimately returned to his true passion, motorcycle racing. Notably, Fogarty ranks as the second most successful World Superbike rider of all time, surpassed only by Jonathan Rea. He achieved his four world titles in the 1990s, riding Ducati 888 and 916 motorcycles.
