Carlos Rivas, originally named Oscar von Weber, was born on February 16, 1925, in El Paso, Texas. He was a renowned American actor, recognized for his performances in films such as “The King and I” (1956), “True Grit” (1969), and “Topaz” (1969). As a strong advocate for Hispanic actors in Hollywood, Rivas co-founded the Screen Actors Guild Ethnic Minority Committee. He was also a talented linguist, fluent in Spanish, English, and German. Later in his life, Rivas worked as a real estate agent in Hollywood. He passed away on June 16, 2003, in Los Angeles, California.
