Carrie Rachel Brownstein, a versatile American artist, gained prominence as a musician with the bands Excuse 17 and Sleater-Kinney. She is also well-known for co-creating and starring in the sketch comedy show Portlandia. Brownstein has authored a highly praised memoir, Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl, and contributed as a writer for NPR Music. Additionally, she has appeared in the film Carol.
