Charisma Carpenter, born on July 23, 1970, in Las Vegas, Nevada, is an American actress recognized for her captivating performances and striking presence in both television and film. She gained prominence in 1997 when she landed the role of Cordelia Chase, a popular and sharp-tongued high school student, in the iconic TV series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” Carpenter’s portrayal of Cordelia was so well-received that she continued the role in the spin-off series “Angel” from 1999 to 2004.

Carpenter has also enjoyed a successful television career beyond her work on “Buffy” and “Angel.” She starred as Kyra in “Charmed” in 2004, Kendall Casablancas in “Veronica Mars” from 2005 to 2006, and Rebecca Sewell in “The Lying Game” from 2012 to 2013. Additionally, she has appeared in films such as “The Expendables” (2010) and its sequel, “The Expendables 2” (2012).

Apart from her acting career, Carpenter is an advocate for mental health, openly discussing her struggles with anxiety, depression, and postpartum depression to help reduce the stigma surrounding these issues. She has also served as a spokesperson for the anti-bullying organization “The Trevor Project.” Interestingly, Carpenter made her television debut with a guest appearance on Baywatch (1989) before being cast on the prime time soap opera, Malibu Shores (1996), after receiving a call from legendary producer Aaron Spelling.
