Charlie Rose, an American journalist and television personality, gained prominence as the host of the talk show “Charlie Rose” from 1991 to 2017. He also anchored CBS News Nightwatch from 1984 to 1990 and co-hosted “CBS This Morning.” Additionally, Rose served as a correspondent for “60 Minutes II” and received numerous journalism awards, including a Peabody and an Emmy.
Rose’s other notable roles include being the executive producer, executive editor, and host of “The Charlie Rose Show” on PBS, where he interviewed various prominent individuals. He also played a significant part in reviving the CBS classic “Person to Person,” previously hosted by Edward R. Murrow.
However, Charlie Rose’s career was tainted by sexual harassment allegations spanning from the 1990s to 2011, resulting in his suspension and eventual dismissal from CBS and PBS in 2017.
