Charo, whose full name is MarÃa Rosario Pilar MartÃnez Molina Baeza, is a multi-talented Spanish artist who gained international fame in the 1960s through her appearances on American television. As an actress, singer, comedian, and flamenco guitarist, she is best known for her lively personality and exceptional guitar skills. Charo has been featured in various TV shows, such as The Love Boat and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, and has released several albums, including 1977’s “Dance A Little Bit Closer.” She has also acted in films like Moon Over Parador and Thumbelina. Having studied under the renowned guitarist Andres Segovia, Charo is an accomplished classical guitarist and has been named “Best Flamenco Guitarist” by Guitar Player magazine on two occasions.
