Clarence Thomas, an American judge, lawyer, and government official, currently serves as an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court. As a conservative justice, Thomas has played a significant role in Trump’s America, focusing on issues such as affirmative action, gun rights, and the death penalty. Although he is the most popular jurist among Republicans, only 21% of Democrats view him favorably. Thomas, who has been acknowledged as the most influential legal thinker of his generation, has transformed the way top lawyers perceive the law. Appointed to the Supreme Court in 1991, he became the second African American to hold this position.
Interestingly, Thomas was once a black activist and follower of Malcolm X. Despite this background, he now supports a criminal justice system that is often criticized for its racial bias and has dismissed prisoners’ claims of cruel and unusual punishment.
