Danny Blanchflower, born on 10 February 1926 and passed away on 9 December 1993, was a renowned Northern Irish footballer, football manager, and journalist. He is best known for captaining Tottenham Hotspur, particularly during their double-winning season in 1960-61. In 2009, The Times ranked Blanchflower as the greatest player in Spurs history. He was a two-time recipient of the FWA Footballer of the Year award and authored a book titled “The Double And Before.” Additionally, Blanchflower led the Northern Ireland national team to their inaugural World Cup appearance in 1958. As the chairman of the Irish Professional Football Association, he championed improved conditions and wages for professional footballers.
